|Thurs 27th – Sat 30th||Great Wall Classic Car Rally 2014 – English Version||The Classic Car Club of Hong Kong has officially been invited by a German Magazine ‘’AUTO BILD KLASSIK‘’ to provide some ten cars to partake in what they call the ‘GREAT WALL CLASSIC CAR RALLY 2014’.The event will take place from the 27th to 30th November 2014 and is only valid for cars built before December 1976.
The Organizers will not accept cars built after December 1976.
Each car Driver must hold a valid China Driving License.
The chosen cars would be shipped by Car Transporter from Hong Kong to Beijing and return with the Organizers bearing the cost of the transport and insurance to and from China.
The Organizers say that all the roads are very well paved asphalt roads and highways, in general good condition with about 50% of the route being twisty mountain roads under the Great Wall, but again in good condition.
|The Organizers will supply proper road maps before the end of October.
There will also be a ‘’back-up team’’ from Bosch Service and also BRABUS China covering the event.
The Organizers say they will cover the car transportation, hotel accommodations and meals for the Hong Kong car Drivers in China.
Drivers must pay their Own air fare to and from Beijing.
Drivers must cover every expense for their co-driver or passengers.
Due to Chinese Custom procedure, the line-up of cars should be made by the 20th September so the timing is rather short.
Ideally the Organizers are looking for classic cars made in the 60’s and 70’s and they would really like an Aston Martin DB5 or DB6.
It should be noted that the Organizers have the right to select the cars and at present there will be some forty (40) cars including from Europe,
China and Hong Kong.
The Organizers are requesting that if possible each Owner arranges his own the four day Rally itself and they will cover the cost. (Subject to prior approval)
If the Owners find that this is not possible, the Organizers can offer compulsory insurance, which covers maximum car damage of RMB120,000.
This is the maximum amount of cover which they are able to arrange.Any interested member are invited on an urgent basis to submit an e-mail to Elton Lau on firstname.lastname@example.org (9389-9172) or Keith Martin email@example.com (9467-0364).
With the application be sure to advise:
Additional photographs may be required but failure to present photographs may lead to the car being rejected.
Please note that the above is provisional information only and may be liable to change by the Organizers and of course we will try and keep all members will be kept updated by a flyer, the web site and the face-book page.
Finally it must be understood and agreed that all participants take part at their own risk. The CCCHK and Organizers are not responsible or held liable for any property damage, loss or personal injury.
